The IMI-1000 from Integrated Automotive UK is a retrofit CarPlay and Android Auto Kit that adds Carplay and Android Auto functionality to a standard vehicle.

Connection Diagram

For Audio20 (7.0in display) vehicles, we supply a USB-AUX adapter which is plugged into USB Media Interface 1 in your central console which provides the recommended audio transfer method to the Audio20 system. The connection to the phone is still wireless, but an aux wire will run from the IMI-1000 to the USB-AUX adapter. Our IMI-1000 now also support bluetooth audio transfer which negates the need for the USB-AUX adapter, but we recommend the USB-AUX adapter for best performance.

If you have the 8.4in COMAND online system, we recommend purchasing our aux activator as this allows a direct connection between the IMI-1000 and the NTG5 aux pins on the head unit (connection to the phone is still wireless)

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. Start ignition

2. IMI-1000 automatically re-pairs with your phone (iPhone or Android phone)

3. CarPlay/Android Auto Automatically starts up on your phone

4. Mercedes COMAND switches to CarPlay/Android Auto automatically

5. You can switch between the Mercedes interface and CarPlay by pressing and holding “HANG UP” or “STAR” on the central console

6. You do not need to reselect “AUX” or “USB MEDIA INTERFACE 1” everytime you enter the car, your system will remember the setting and reconnect automatically

Here is a brief overview of the IMI-1000 which was installed into a W205 C43. Note that for the 8.4in COMAND online systems you can now activate Aux using our NTG5.0 Aux activator and you will not need the USB-AUX adapter shown in the video (when Aux is activated the connection to the phone is still wireless and you do not need to run the Aux wire to the USB port in the arm rest)

This kit is compatible with various front parking camera, reverse parking camera and 360 degree cameras.
