A more detailed guide is available in Pdf format from us by email, but here is an overview of the connections required when installing the IMI-1000 into any BMW with NBT/HU_ENTRY/HU_ENTRYNAV as well as some late model CIC with 6 pin LVDS (mainly found in the F30). The purpose of this guide is to show you how simple installation of the IMI-1000 is, the same principle applies to all of our kits for all vehicle models. Please email us for the full installation manual showing panel removal and instructions on which screws need removing to access the head unit.
STEP 1: Remove head unit
Example F20 Head unit removal:

STEP 2: REMOVE DISPLAY and CONNECT IMI-1000 “LVDS OUT” CONNECTOR DIRECTLY TO DISPLAY
STEP 3: DISCONNECT BMW 48 pin CONNECTOR FROM HEAD UNIT, TRANSFER “MOST BUS” FIBRE OPTIC LINE TO IMI-1000 48 pin CONNECTOR and CONNECT IMI-1000 48 PIN CONNECTOR TO HEAD UNIT
***IMPORTANT – DO NOT FORGET TO TRANSFER THE MOST FIBRE OPTIC CONNECT FROM THE ORIGINAL BMW QUADLOCK TO THE NEW QUADLOCK (ENSURE POSITION AND ORIENTATION MATCH THE ORIGINAL)***
STEP 4 : CONNECT IMI-1000 “LVDS IN” CONNECTOR TO THE ORGINAL DISPLAY CONNECTOR
STEP 5: CONNECT IMI-1000
STEP 6: CHECK DIP SWITCHES MATCH YOUR DISPLAY SIZE
STEP 7 : MOUNT IMI-1000 and ENJOY!
Mounting is usually best performed by placing the IMI-1000 above or below the glovebox (above the kick panel out of sight)
