Below are links to the installation guide, it is important to select the correct dip switch selection (found on the label on top of the unit) – the switches are on the side of the unit.

IMI-1000 BMW CCC Installation Guide v1.2 pdf [1.2Mb]

You have been shipped our “GEN5” kit, the latest 5th generation IMI-1000, this includes improved DSP and processing speeds. The manual may show slightly different style connectors, but the overall installation is exactly as per the manual.

Tips:

  1. Switches 1+2 set the microphone (either OEM (HL) or aftermarket (LH), if using the aftermarket mic, you will need to connect it to the 3.5mm female jack socket on the USB harness on the IMI-1000
  2. Switches 3+4 set the canbus, if you controller is not working as you expect it is likely because these switches are incorrectly set
  3. Switches 5+6 set the display resolution and timing, if you get a black screen or the screen isn’t correctly oriented, then these switches are likely to be incorrect.

NOTE : DO NOT DISCONNECT OR CONNECT ANY CONNECTOR (ESPECIALLY DISPLAY CONNECTIONS) WITH POWER APPLIED TO THE HEAD UNIT. THIS CAN DAMAGE THE MODULE

If the controller doesn’t work with the setting you choose, try the “alternate” setting and it will work. There are two types of controller in the CCC system.

Please note that if you get a black screen (providing the dip switches are correct) it is because the display connections are wrong, please note the orientation especially of the black connector that goes into the back of the head unit. See below;

For 8.8 Pro Nav Systems:

For 6.5 MASK/MASKII systems you may need to trim the locator nipple off the side of the connector.

If you get stuck, please send detailed pictures of all of your connections, we will assist.
